Parth's Interview: Teaching Physics at EIC

Parths Interview: Teaching Physics at EIC

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Parth's departure from Ealing Independent College at the end of this term. Parth has accepted an incredible opportunity as a Data Analyst at a startup, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his career. While we are sad to see him go, we couldn't be more proud of his achievements and the journey he is about to embark on.

Here is what Parth had to say in this final interview:

Briefly Introduce yourself:

“Hi! I’m Parth, your friendly neighbourhood physics teacher. I’ve been teaching since 2021, being a Physics graduate before.”

Parth studied Physics at Imperial College London, he summarises his time there as memorable, challenging but extremely fun. During his time at university he tutored other students, and so moving to teaching full time after graduating felt right.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

“The sense of impact on others. Teaching is a very tangible job and over a very short period of time, you’re able to see the influence you’ve had on a student and their appreciation for the subject. The holidays are pretty great too.”

Students often face obstacles that hinder their progress and success. At Ealing Independent College we recognize that these challenges can be discouraging, but we are here to provide a solution. Our comprehensive retake programs have been specifically designed to address areas of improvement and assist students in achieving their desired results. With a focus on personalised learning and tailored support, our programs empower students to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. Parth touches on this in his next response.

What impact have you made that you are most proud of?

“There isn’t one particular event. But you tend to see a change in the student holistically. Seeing students who used to hate being in school and saw no point in education now attending and enjoying what’s being taught, and having the ambition to study it forwards is very rewarding.”

How would you like to impact our college community more?

“Bringing in more clubs/ events for students to develop their cross-disciplinary knowledge. Allow the students to test what they’ve learnt by applying it to a related field.”

This year, the college is witnessing a remarkable growth in the number and variety of clubs and activities available to students. The diverse range of options ensures that there is something for everyone, promoting a sense of community and providing ample opportunities for students to pursue their interests outside the classroom. Sports clubs include running, basketball and football. Parth runs an engineering club, but there are others that are less traditional such as Metaphysics and Folklore Club and many more. All these clubs and activities play a crucial role in building a strong and vibrant community within our college, something that Parth feels the college does well.

In your opinion, what is the best thing about the college?

“The community and openness. Everyone is so kind and welcoming of everyone.”

Can you share an interesting fact about the subject you teach?

“Butterflies aren’t actually colourful. They had a pseudo colour due to the structure of the scales on their wings -> metamaterial physics”

During his time at Ealing Independent College, Parth has made a significant impact on both the academic and social aspects of our community. He has been an integral part of our college, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that students and staff have come to cherish. Parth's dedication, enthusiasm, and strong work ethic have truly set him apart from developing the tracking system for Months Marks which helps to enable monthly feedback for parents, to running an engineering club every Monday lunchtime for students, and being a beloved form tutor to his Year 10 tutor group.

Reflecting on his experience, Parth describes his time at Ealing Independent College as “fun and rewarding”. As Parth moves forward in his professional journey, we have no doubt that he will excel in his new role. While Parth's departure is bittersweet, we would like to congratulate him on his new role.  We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and have no doubt that he will continue to achieve great things.

Finally - Tell me a fun fact about yourself!!
